Apart from being on the slightly predictable side, it was pretty good over all. There were parts where I was like, oh! oh! I know how he did it! and then it's like...crap...I was wrong...that was so much more cleaver then what I thought.
And Beyond Birthday, oh my god...apart from being a clinicly insane, genious, serial killer...all he needed was some love! And a little less pressure put on him way back in his youth.
*sigh* Not to mention the end (which I will not disclose for those who haven't read it)...another oh my god moment.
Beyond Birthday has earned himself a spot right up there with L...though I'm sure he'd like to be above L...in terms of my loving the character (not literally of course). He was a fun character, just like L...a slightly creepier L...
But anywho...yeah...loved the book...didn't really like Naomi Misora though, she kinda bugged me. Though I have to admit! And this is the only bit I'm givin'...it was her that inspired L's fighting style :3...he got his fighting style from her. I thought that was kinda cute :3...too bad L is not good with women, otherwise I think those two would've been a great team, both as detectives and perhaps a little more...but that's just my fangirl side talking XD.
